In the Electrical Contracting Industry: A Win-Win for Everyone?
The electrical contracting industry is experiencing a fascinating shift. We're witnessing the emergence of companies acting primarily as sales engines, prioritizing...
On a mission to simplify life, work and the road in between all from the comfort of my digital home.
Several years ago, while working as an electrical subcontractor, I made an unexpected discovery:
my passion lay in the realm of business operations and processes within the electrical industry than in the electrical work itself. This realization came to light when companies I subcontracted for started praising the efficiency and innovation of my own business's processes. They were curious about how they could incorporate similar strategies into their operations. Eager to assist, I shared my insights. The true reward was witnessing the transformation in these businesses—owners and employees alike found a new sense of purpose and tranquillity. Freed from the constant pressure of project management, they could redirect their focus towards strategic business growth. This wasn't just a one-time occurrence; it happened repeatedly, underscoring the impact of operational excellence on business success.
To me, the satisfaction derived from enhancing a company's internal operations far outweighs the completion of any hands-on project. This passion led me to pioneer a concept I've dubbed Electrical Contractor Optimization (ECO), a unique approach that mirrors the influence of a business coach or consultant. By implementing ECO, I aim to streamline processes that return valuable time to both owners and employees within the electrical contracting sector. This newfound efficiency enables a sharper focus on strategic planning, exploring growth avenues, or simply enjoying an improved work-life balance.
