Life is not a dynamic move!

The Beast Climbing wall

Ever feel like your moving too fast and end up in a place you wish you weren’t?

I call this rushing the steps and it is so easy to do in life and in business, you are going about your day, week and month doing what you do and opportunities are all around us, the chance to buy that thing you don’t need, that new projects that might more than you can take on at the moment.

Although at the time it seems like a great step forward but once purchased or the project has started you start thinking I wish I never took this on, that is skipping the steps.

Avoiding this is a mindfulness game and in this modern society, we are all guilty of not being mindful.

I was climbing the other day with my 3 children and this got me thinking you can't get to the top of a climbing route without spending time to work on each move for those of you that have ever climbed you get it, solving that problem on a route positioning your self just right so each hand and foot position is perfect, reaching the top gives you an exhilarating sense of achievement and power. the journey was not overwhelming at all it was calming and enjoyable.

This got me thinking every stage of life has steps and it is easy to skip them, dyno through them leaving you without the proper foothold when your stick your landing or leaving you flat on your backside when you don't make it.

‘dyno’ is when the climber makes a dynamic movement using momentum to get to the next hold It is not a controlled reach or a stretch. once you have made the move, you're committed.

‘Stick your landing’ Making a dynamic or static move without falling off.

Skipping the steps can put you where you want to be but leave you without the proper foothold or in this case the skills or mental ability to provide some comfort in the position you now find yourself in.

Now I'm all for pushing myself and getting out of my comfort zone but when I did this without putting some sort of process in place and thinking about the steps of this possible new route I almost certainly found myself landing flat on my backside…

The Message I’m trying to get across is; new directions in life can be a positive thing but don’t start that new route before planning the steps, thinking about the process before making the first move will give you be better foothold for each step of the journey.

Be Mindfulfull take a moment to consider if what you are about to do is for you just.

Put some comfort into putting yourself out of your comfort zone.
